CORDLESS SKINS - MAKE YOUR OWN CUSTOM TOOL KIT

At Norwest Tool Centre you can mix and match to make your own custom kit!
You can start with just a single cordless tool that comes standard with two batteries, battery charger, and case. Then add a cordless tool skin: a bare tool only, no batteries, charger, or case. This saves you paying for extra batteries and chargers that you may not need.
Making your own kit that has exactly what you want to get the job done is easy. Here are just a few simple points to remember:
-
Different brands of batteries are not interchangeable. For example, a Panasonic battery will not work in a Makita or DeWalt tool.
Each brand will have a couple of different battery systems:
Makita:
-
Makita make NiCd and Lithium Ion batteries.
-
NiCd batteries will only work in cordless tools made to take NiCd batteries, they wont work in a cordless tool made to take a Lithium Ion battery.
-
Lithium Ion batteries will only work in a cordless tool made to take Lithium Ion batteries. They will not work in a cordless tool made to take NiCd batteries. The Makita Lithium Ion cordless tool range is called LXT.
-
In the Lithium Ion batteries, which 95% of customers want, there are just two voltages available - 18V and 14.4V.
-
All 18V Lithium Ion batteries will fit any 18V LXT (Lithium Ion) tool.
-
All 14.4V Lithium Ion batteries will fit any 14.4V LXT (Lithium Ion) tool.
-
An 18V battery will not work in a 14.4V tool, and vice versa.
DeWalt:
-
DeWalt make NiCd and Lithium Ion batteries.
-
Unlike other brands, any DeWalt cordless tool will take either NiCd or Lithium Ion batteries, they are completely interchangeable.
-
There are several different voltages available, for example, 9.6V, 18V, 36V.
-
You must use the correct voltage battery for the cordless tool. For example, an 18V battery will only work in an 18V tool, it will not work in a 9.6V or 36V tool.
Panasonic:
-
Panasonic make NiMh and Lithium Ion batteries.
-
NiMh batteries will only work in cordless tools made to take NiMh batteries, they wont work in a cordless tool made to take a Lithium Ion battery.
-
Lithium Ion batteries will only work in a cordless tool made to take Lithium Ion batteries. They will not work in a cordless tool made to take NiMh batteries.
-
There are several different voltages available, for example, 7.2V, 14.4V, 15.6V, 18V, 21.6V, 28V.
-
You must use the correct voltage battery for the cordless tool. For example, a 14.4V battery will only work in an 14.4V tool, it will not work in a 7.2V or 15.6V tool.
-
All 14.4V Lithium Ion batteries will fit any 14.4V Lithium Ion tool.
-
All 21.6V Lithium Ion batteries will fit any 21.6V Lithium Ion tool.
-
An 21.6V battery will not work in a 14.4V tool, and vice versa.
