Arbortech AS160 Allsaw Tool Review

ArborTech Brick Saw

Some tools prove themselves in other countries before we see them here, so when we got our first look at the Australian-born ArborTech AS160 brick and mortar saw, it was already cutting its way into the European construction industry. This two-bladed cross between an angle grinder and a jigsaw was developed for masonry repair and re-pointing, and for applications requiring accurate cut-ins into brick and masonry for installations like electrical boxes. It has been especially well-received among historic restoration specialists working under stringent guidelines for replacement and re-pointing of masonry. Twin carbide-tipped blades swing back and forth along their orbit, and the blade design lets you cut squarely up to your line without overcutting, impossible with a round-bladed grinder or saw. Diamond-tipped blades may be in the future for even easier cutting.
